Introducing The Boob Boss Nipple Ruler

As a woman of color who has dedicated her career to this field, and as a breastfeeding mother myself, this week means more than words can express. Launching my very first product this week is no coincidence.

Everything I have done in my career has been intentional in terms of representation - whether it be The Perfect Push Foundation or my visual tutorials. I think it is so important for women to see other women breastfeeding - especially for black women - so that we can increase our breastfeeding rates.

A few years ago, you might remember me starting conversations around nipple sizing. It’s long been a frustration of mine that pump companies haven’t stepped up to the mark and provided flange sizes that are more inclusive and representative of breastfeeding women as a collective.

When we measured women’s nipples in the clinic, there was so much beautiful variation - I saw nipples ranging from 8mm to 36mm. I remember googling the average nipple size and reading it was 10-11mm. I don’t know who's “average” is based on, but I can tell you right now, that I have seen many, many melanated nipples that run larger than that.

The major problem I encountered was that I couldn’t find a measuring device that catered to this range… this very REAL range.

So I thought to myself: I’m going to create one.

So, without further ado… I am honored, proud, and excited to share my very first product with you. The Boob Boss Nipple Ruler.

Love,

Rue
